Dishwashers!

DISHWASHERS!!!!!!!! Woohoo! Mrs. Liamini you are enabling me.
Dishwashers are great. Very demure. Very mindful. I love dishwashers. I do not love how people don't know how to use them. Too many people pre-rinse their dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Why? It's a dishwasher! It washes your dishes! You should not be washing the dishes your dishwasher should be washing. Every time my mom rinses the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher I swear steam comes out of my ears.

I finally got my family to put dish soap in both sections of the soap dispenser. Did you even know there were two places to put your dish soap in? Probably not... The lack of knowledge about dishwashers is tragic. Truly tragic. I've had nightmares about the misuse of dishwashers. The torture, unknowing, ignorant consumers put their poor machines through. The rampant use of dishwasher pods. (I just threw up in my mouth.) Disgusting. Horrendous. Nightmare fuel. Not only are they overpriced, but they don't work as well as good old powder dishwasher powder (which can only be bought at Target and Walmart but the Target brand one is $2.61 more expensive which is 52.41% more expensive than the Great Value Brand- ridiculous). Just use the darn powder! It's cheaper, more effective, and more practical. I hear you thinking that pouring the powder from the container is a pain but have you considered putting it in a jar or container of sorts and sticking a spoon in it? We've been using an old rice container to hold the soap since I was at least in elementary school, so some 7 years. If we can make it work you can too.

Now, let's say you used your dishwasher once or twice and were unsatisfied with how it cleaned. I have a couple of diagnostic questions for you. Did you run your sink till the water coming out was warm? For the most part this doesn't matter but it could help if you have hard water. Does your dishwasher have a weird smell to it? Have you considered or tried cleaning out the filter under the bottom water sprayer (on most models it's under the spinning arm but check the manual for yours if it isn't, unless you have a really fancy one that connects directly to your garbage disposal under your sink. If that's the case then you might just smell bad)? Do you have spots on your dishes after you've washed them? Have considered using a rinse aid? It really helps with spotting on your dishes and glassware. And I swear surfactants won't kill you so don't be an almond parent or child or whatever category of human or alien is reading this. If you really think something isn't working with your dishwasher or think it's old please come ask my questions. I bet I can fix your problems. I'm 92% sure our current dishwasher was manufactured in 1994 and I bet it's 192% more efficient than you at cleaning the dishes.

In conclusion... I know too much about dishwashers and can certainly talk your ear off about them (or in this case burn your retinas off about them). And Mrs. Liamini is too good at enabling my rambling about niche topics.
